DURIAN FESTIVAL 

UIC Culinary Wizards Triumph at Tagum City Durian Festival's "Cook-Off Showdown and Culinary Institute Olympics"

Tagum City, September 15, 2023 - The gastronomic capital of the Philippines, Tagum City, recently played host to a Durian Festival like never before, with a delectable twist. The theme for this year's festivities was "Cook-Off Showdown and Culinary Institute Olympics," and the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) proudly sent forth a brigade of six talented Bachelor of Science in Hotel Restaurant  and Institution Management (BS HRIM) students to represent the university in this culinary extravaganza.

The UIC BS HRIM students embarked on a culinary journey that unfolded as an exhilarating culinary showdown. Their mission: to craft mouthwatering masterpieces using durian as the star ingredient. From durian-infused pastries that tantalize taste buds to savory creations that showcased the fruit's versatility, the UIC team left an indelible mark on the festival's culinary landscape.

Amidst stiff competition from other culinary institutes, the UIC team emerged triumphant, winning hearts with their innovative approach, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for the culinary arts. The Cook-Off Showdown and Culinary Institute Olympics became a platform for UIC's culinary wizards to demonstrate their skills and creativity on a grand stage. The success of the UIC team at the Tagum City Durian Festival not only adds another feather to the university's culinary cap but also reinforces its commitment to providing students with opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. The Culinary Institute Olympics proved to be a stage where UIC's culinary legacy continues to shine.

As the Durian Festival concluded, the UIC culinary wizards returned to their campus with accolades, memories, and a deeper appreciation for the art and science of culinary excellence. The "Cook-Off Showdown and Culinary Institute Olympics" theme at the Tagum City Durian Festival will be remembered as a celebration of talent, teamwork, and the rich flavors of durian-infused creativity.

NCCC INTER-SCHOOL COOKING SHOWDOWN

"Savoring Success: A Visual Journey through the NCCC Inter-School Culinary Challenge" 


In the bustling intersection where passion converges with the palate, our Hotel and Restaurant Institution Management (HRIM) students have crafted a culinary legacy that resonates with excellence. The canvas for their artistry was set on the grand stage of The NCCC INTER-SCHOOL COOKING SHOWDOWN, where the kitchen transformed into a theater for creativity and innovation. With spatulas in hand and hearts afire, our aspiring chefs embarked on a gastronomic odyssey that would soon be etched into the history of culinary prowess. 


Against the backdrop of fierce competition and the tantalizing aroma of sizzling success, our talented HRIM students emerged as the 1st runner up in the illustrious NCCC INTER-SCHOOL COOKING SHOWDOWN, a feat that stands as a testament to their dedication and culinary finesse. Sponsored generously by MONDELEZ, this competition not only showcased their ability to master the art of cooking but also unveiled the depth of their passion and commitment. As we embark on this documentation journey, we unravel the captivating narrative of these culinary virtuosos, offering a glimpse into the diligence, skill, and collaborative spirit that propelled them to the forefront of the culinary stage. 

The culinary arena buzzed with excitement as our Hotel and Restaurant Institution Management (HRIM) students stepped into the spotlight. With stovetops ablaze and a palpable sense of anticipation, they embarked on a culinary adventure that transcended the ordinary, destined to leave an indelible mark on the gastronomic calendar. The air was thick with the promise of something extraordinary as these dedicated individuals embraced the challenge before them. Empowering minds and forging connections at the UM Summit: Together, we strive for excellence and embrace the power of knowledge.  


PANAGHIUSA: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development goals. Southern Mindanao Summit at the University of Mindanao is an event that brings together the Tourism & Green Investment team with the goal of fostering sustainable development in the Southern Mindanao region. This initiative recognizes the pivotal role of young leaders in shaping the future and emphasizes the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals. The summit serves as a platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among key stakeholders in the fields of tourism and green investment. The Tourism & Green Investment team plays a crucial role in this endeavor, working towards a common vision of sustainable development that balances economic growth with environmental conservation.  

The summit provides a space for experts, academics, and industry leaders to share their insights and experiences in the fields of tourism and green investment. This knowledge exchange helps build a comprehensive understanding of best practices, challenges, and innovative solutions. The focus on tomorrow's leaders underscores the importance of empowering youth. By involving young professionals and students, the summit aims to inspire and equip them with the necessary tools to become advocates for sustainable development. This empowers the next generation to drive positive change in their communities. Tourism & Green Investment team's united efforts emphasize the need for responsible tourism practices. “The CHEFS Culinary Garden: A Living University and Source of Inspiration for Sustainability and Nature Preservation”  


The CHEFS Culinary Garden is a living testament to the power of collaboration and dedication. It is a place where people from all walks of life come together to create something truly remarkable. From the gardeners who tend to the plants day in and day out, to the scientists who study the intricate workings of nature, everyone plays a vital role in making this garden what it is today.But the garden is more than just a place for people to work and learn. It is a place of beauty and wonder, where visitors can come to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. Whether you're strolling through the winding paths, admiring the vibrant colors of the flowers, or simply sitting quietly and taking in the sights and sounds around you, the CHEFS Botanical Garden is a place of peace and tranquility that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
