The BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS Program

HISTORICAL SKETCH

The University of the Immaculate Conception, formerly known as Immaculate Conception College, first offered BS in Food and Nutrition (BSFN) in 1976. In the 1980s, the program was called BS in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND). UIC BSND Program was given government recognition by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) number 013, s. 1982 as a four-year Nutrition and Dietetics course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics effective February 15, 1982. The recognition was granted by the Ministry of Education and Culture as per approval of Minister Onofre D. Corpuz. The BSND Program of UIC (ICC) is a pioneer in Region XI.

The curriculum has been revised by the Commission on Higher Education by adding important courses such as the Nutrition Care Process and other general courses intended for K-12 graduates. UIC integrated professional courses that are beyond the minimum to achieve the outcomes of the students and to respond to internationalization efforts of UIC.
